The Right Time: When to Book Your Slot

Every tour sees the same rooms with the same artificial light: there's no "golden hour" underground. Choosing a time slot is pure logistics, and here's how to think about it:

9:15–10:30 AM — the organized-person slot. You have the rest of the day free after you exit around 11: hit the Colosseum, Roman Forum, or San Pietro in Vincoli in minutes. Also the slot for those who dislike crowds: the park is still quiet.
11:00 AM–1:00 PM — the slot that sells out first. Convenient if you don't want an early wake-up or want afternoon free. Book this one first if traveling on Saturday.
